Put together an amenities kit before flying
Before flying, make sure to take everything that your eyes could need during your flight, including eyedrops to hydrate them, a mask to relax them, and cornflower water and cotton swabs to decongest them.
During the flight
The dry air on board a plane and air conditioning tend to dry out your eyes. Make sure you hydrate them with eyedrops. If you wear contact lenses, take them out and wear glasses instead. For better hydration, drink lots of water. Do regular exercises like blinking repeatedly for 20 seconds. Apply cornflower water on your closed eyes to relax them. The water’s freshness will soothe them. If your flight is long, the best remedy is a nap.
After the flight
If you have heeded this advice, then no worries. Your eyes are ready for new adventures. But don’t forget your sunglasses whether you’re on holiday in the mountains or at the seaside. Sunglasses that are certified under European regulations are better. You will recognise them with the “CE” sign on the temples. Check the protection index of your glasses.“3” sunglasses are the best.
